Intuitive design for better living
We bring spaces to life
Caroline Beresford is a designer with a mission to create richly layered, visually stunning interiors and engaging public spaces.
As founder of Caroline Beresford Design she creates environments that combine a sense of timelessness with a spark of personality.
This means creating dynamic public spaces that sit comfortably within their immediate context and reflect their physical location, and private spaces imbued with the personality of the people that live there. Inspired by travel, Caroline believes that memorable experiences are made when the trinity of design, art and place coalesce. This inherent understanding and appreciation of the elements that go into transforming a space into a stunning experiential environment has seen her Sydney-based practice grow from its launch in 2013, designing small espresso bars to managing design strategies for shopping centres, a major sports club and a prominent food emporium. Working with respected organisations within the architecture and property industries including AMP Capital, Mirvac, GPT and Cox Architecture, Caroline’s expertise extends to the Design Institute of Australia’s Council in Sydney, where she is a member and the key contact for Local Government.
Residential
We create homes with a timeless sense of luxury, interiors without pretension that reflect people’s needs and idiosyncratic quirks. Adept at balancing sophisticated finishes and materials with classic vintage pieces and bold contemporary design we transform houses into homes with heart.
Hospitality
From intimate cafes and contemporary food courts to style-conscious restaurants and major sporting clubs our experience in hospitality design is extensive. We combine an intuitive knowledge of spatial planning with the warmth of natural materials and an understanding of each project’s target demographic to create visually arresting, memorable environments.
Place and Public Spaces
We understand the impact design can have on people’s moods and experiences. Using the idea of “shared backyards” we’ve created vibrant public spaces that mix high-end retail with world-class restaurants and expanses of green space. It is a formula that’s seen our skills in Place Management and Concept Design utilised in large-scale developments from the new Quay Quarter in Sydney to Westfield Booragoon in Perth.
Art curation
We believe in the transformative power art can bring to an interior. Art is also an expression of the collector’s personality, a window into their world. Caroline works alongside prominent galleries to curate and build on clients’ art collections in both their homes and workspaces. Her love of contemporary art includes membership of Atelier, the NSW Art Gallery’s newest foundation supporter group, which provides the opportunity to support important community and outreach projects.
A space where the trinity of design, art and place coalesce.
