Tucked away in a leafy little spot on Abbott Street sits a thriving espresso bar offering delicious homemade cakes and amazingly good Campos Coffee. Our brief was to turn a rather cramped space, with virtually no storage in to a functional space to enable the owners to operate more efficiently and to make their work day easier and more enjoyable.
Caroline designed beautiful pigeon hole style shelving which now line the walls, to create a dramatic effect in black and light wood, and to offer the space more effective storage solutions. The walls were painted in Dulux Domino, and give the space a feeling of depth. Salvaged, recycled timber from Ironwood in Lilyfield clad the coffee counter which Caroline designed to be on castors. This can be moved forward and backward to maximise space and accessibility. A small wall dividing the kitchen from service, also clad in salvaged timber give the space the “home away from home” welcoming feel the clients were hoping for.
Fresh flowers are always on display, adding freshness and warmth to this beautiful cafe.
